چکیده
This paper proposes a novel Hamming distance tolerant content-addressable memory (HD-CAM) for energy-efficient in-memory approximate matching applications. HD-CAM exploits NOR-type based static associative bitcells, where we add circuitry to enable search with programmable tolerance. implements using matchline charge redistribution rather than its rise or fall time, frequently employed in state-of-the-art solutions. was designed 65 $\mathrm { \text {n} {m} }$ 1.2 {V}}$ CMOS technology and evaluated through extensive Monte Carlo simulations. Our analysis shows that supports robust operation under significant process variations changes the design parameters, enabling wide range of mismatch threshold (tolerable distance) levels pattern lengths. functionally virus DNA classification, which makes suitable hardware acceleration genomic surveillance viral outbreaks, such as Covid-19 pandemics.

One of the special types of Computer Memory is said to be as Content Addressable Memory. It is also called as associative array or associative storage, associative memory which can be frequently used in very high speed searching applications such as databases, associative computing, lookup tables and networking. CAM is one type of functional memory which contains huge amount of stored data wher...

implemented in TSMC 90 nm technology and its robustness across PVT variation is verified. The post-layout simulation result shows, it has energy metric of 0.115 fJ/bit/search with search time 361.6 ps, the best reported so far. The maximum operating frequency is 1GHz. Content Addressable Memory (CAM) retrieves address of the matched content location in memory against the search data. CAM is cap...
متن کاملDesign of a Low Power Content Addressable Memory (CAM)
Conventional CAM designs typically take up significantly more area, power, and sometimes delay compared to location addressed memories of the same capacity. If these penalties are traded off against each other, there will be many new applications for CAMs that are not feasible or practical today. In this study using EDP as a metric, we analytically evaluate individual CAM design techniques prev...
متن کاملOn using content addressable memory for packet classification
Packet switched networks such as the Internet require packet classification at every hop in order to apply services and security policies to traffic flows. The relentless increase in link speeds and traffic volume imposes astringent constraints on packet classification solutions. Ternary Content Addressable Memory (TCAM) devices are favored by most network component and equipment vendors due to...
